AW15 Inspiration

So as special as Summer is; having such lovely, long evenings, being able to go out without a coat wrapped over your arm and not looking odd when you order an Ice Cold Latte at Costa - the reality is... It doesn't last half as long as we hope it will. As with anything, all good things must come to an end.
The next real thing on my list to be focusing on, is getting my flat Autumn-fied!
I'm thinking Dusty Purples, Off-Pinks and Mauve colours.

As usual, my first point of call for inspiration is Pinterest and Zara Home - the best shop in this entire world. Plenty of hours have been spent in there dribbling at all their homeware (pretty image right?)
These are a couple of items you can currently find on the Zara Home website (link here)

Now I don't leave all of my inspiration just down to Zara, however on-point they tend to be. Pinterest is definitely my next step after that. Having access to so many different people's portfolios and bits of inspiration means I am more likely to find unique photos and colour combinations. Have a look.

3: Artwork

Coming from quite an artistic background and studying Graphic Design at A Level, I am obsessed with decorating places with artwork. Having to buy the more essential pieces for the flat, like a bed, chests of drawers etc, I have had to hold off buying artwork for a while.
Below are a couple of pieces that I massively adore. Click the photos for links to the original websites.

2: Lighting

Lights & Candle inspiration:

If you had one thing that would totally change the feeling of a room, what would you think it it?
You're right! The title does explains it...
There is nothing more satisfying that really well-lit room, decorated with fabulous ceiling-hung lights or ornate lamps.
Here is a little bit of my style right here.

Have a good day.

1: Decor

I am writing this post on our new railway sleeper table, with cast iron legs and bench - to die for!
We've been living in our new flat now for 3 months and have completely transformed it.

I remember our first viewing of the flat. It's in a great location - close to the station - so already had people bidding on it when we went to view it. It had purple carpets, yellow-ey laminate and the original 1980's kitchen and bathroom (the latter is still there). It also had a red hallway which was an absolute b***h to repaint. I recommend 3 - 4 coats, if not more.

It isn't the stereotypical fashion-type apartment with sash windows, exposed wooden floors or heigh ceilings. It's a delightful 2nd floor apartment with it's own balcony and we love it.
These are not my photos, but a glimpse at the style we love and are inspired by.

Have a good day.
