REVIEW: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser

The Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser has been clogging up my blogger feed for some time now, and although I was captivated by what it supposedly did, I didn't actually purchase one until I got absolutely sick of my sensitive skin.
The reviews I have seen have been praising this product to the heavens. It really was supposedly THAT good! And yes, it is a great product if you have sensitive skin.
I normally get very red patch patches on my skin and I saw that many people that used this, actually kept red patches at bay. I also suffer from irritated, sensitive skin so I knew the natural products in it would help.
They did! They definitely did, but I also inherited some awful, awful spots.

I don't normally get spots all over my face, just the odd one here and there, but this product broke me out terribly. It cleaned my skin very well and I loved how you apply it to your make up and then wipe away with the muslin cloth. I kind of thought to myself, ''maybe this is good?''.. Maybe it was pulling all my unwanted, under-the-skin spots, to the surface, but ultimately, I just don't think my skin loved it as much as I did.

I wanted to be able to write a raving review [It's not all bad!] but I got spots. End of. I know this has only happened to a select few so don't dis-guard this product if you think it'll work for you! It's relatively pricey but I got a free sample of Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic which I do really love, so it wasn't ALL bad!
It's very soothing and closes my pores without irritating!
Overall, I do like the range as it's soothed and calmed down my redness but I can't carry on using a product that makes me break out. I've been using it for 3 - 4 weeks now and it's just the same story every day!

What do you think about Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish? Yay or nay?

  1. I won a few Liz Earle samples a while back and this was one of them. I'm one of those people that has spots and blemishes ALL the time, no matter what I use, and the Cleanse and Polish failed to get rid of them ): I'm really tempted to buy a full size one and see if I just needed more than the sample size to see results. I also got a little Skin Tonic as well and loved that, I was so sad when I'd used it all up!

  2. I also got the Liz Earle cleanser a couple of days ago and started using it on Sunday. So far I cannot complain but 4 days of usage don't say a thing. I actually only use the cleanser once a day (in the morning) and so far my skin is reacting quite good to it. I have a history of sensitive skin and I was/am worried that I would get allergies and such. Even though you can use it for sensitive skin I feel like it leaves my skin slightly dry (but only a bit and not as bad as other products). And even though my skin feels very nice and clean after the usage I am not sure how I feel about that muslin cloth... We will see what the next 4 weeks will do to my skin!
You should try the Philosophy Purity cleanser (everyone else who is not raving about Liz Earle is raving about that one). Maybe that one suits your skin better.

  4. I also got spots after using the hot cloth cleanser :( like you I rarely get spots all over my face but after using this they were everywhere.

Such a shame as everyone seems to really rave about it! Silly sensitive skin!

  5. I have used this on and off for a couple of years. The first time I used it I had spots and very oily skin. This literally wiped them clean. It was A.Mazing.

I can recomend 2 products which I have used in the past when I had phases of sensitive skin.

-Vichy 3 in 1 Cleanser. It's only for sale in America but there are websites which ship it to you.

-the DHC range. They do an amazing deep cleansing oil and oil soaps and cater to all skin types.

  6. I should stop, I've been reading your blog for a good 10 minutes now - I love it! When I had a little more money (i.e. in a long time) I'm going to buy some Liz Earle cleanse & polish goodies from their website. A lovely long e-mail from customer service told me that if I did experience any adverse reactions I should get my money back (thankfully!)
